AJ Styles is taking the TNA World Heavyweight Title to new places both literally and figuratively. He has been defending the belt all over the world in what have been deemed “unauthorized” defenses of the championship. See currently he is not an official employee of Impact Wrestling but has taken the title with him. Dixie Carter may not be happy about this but it is one of the best things that could have happened to TNA.
The Phenomenal One has been to Japan to defend the title and also down to AAA promotion in Mexico. It appears that does not plan on coming back officially to Spike TV anytime soon. Whoever came up with the idea of using the champion this definitely has the right idea. Actually it’s what a lot of wrestling people thought the WWE should have done with CM Punk when he was in a similar situation 2 years ago. As the first storyline of the post Hulk Hogan era, it seems like Impact Wrestling on the right course.
