It might be an understatement to say that there will never again be a superstar like the Undertaker. This week the WWE is celebrating his debut with the company 25 years ago at Survivor Series. There have been superstars who have had long careers but no one has ever sustained the type of run that the Deadman has always being near the top of the card for his entire run.
The Undertaker could possibly be the greatest WWE superstar of all time. Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold and The Rock maybe greater box office successes but none match the consistency of the Undertaker. The man, the myth the legend crosses over so many eras of Hall of Famers. He appeared when Hogan and Warrior were on top and was around to see Bret versus Shawn era and still road high during the John Cena wave.
One of the true marks of domination is the Phenom’s Wrestlemania record. There will never be a competitor to match the 21 match win streak at the big event. There many wrestlers who have ever even been in 20 Wrestlemanias or can go undefeated for that long. Although Shawn Michaels is called Mr Wrestlemania there is only one undisputed king of the event. His majestic entrances are stuff of legend.
The long time locker room leader is easily the best big man to ever work a ring. No matter who the opponent Taker has been able to pull off some memorable matches. At 6 ft 10 there has never been a man of his size to move so good in a ring and able to fly around with guys like Shawn Michaels, slug it out with Austin and still match up with giants like Big Show. It is fitting that 25 years to the day that he debuted the Undertaker will get to share his magic with the world one more time.
