We had to wait 13 years and sit through about 457,456 rumors but the day is finally here. Sting has arrived in the WWE and minute too late. The company was in need of a shot in the arm. No matter how jaded you are by the current product you have to be excited about Sting being in the WWE. Understand this is an event that may never happen again. This is the most anticipated debut ever.
This is the biggest star in the history of pro wrestling to have never wrestled at least one match in the WWF/E. Due to the current state of sports entertainment there will never be a first time like this ever again. The question now is where do we go from here? The general consensus is that he will face HHH at Wrestlemania. Right now he stands as the best possible opponent for Sting’s big match.
There is sufficient enough time for the writers to craft a good story that can roll into the biggest Wrestlemania the company has had in a long time. Wrestlemania 31 is the 2nd of the WWE Network era and has to show that this model can sustain and needs to be extremely successful. Sting deserves to have that marquee match in front of 80,000 with all the pageantry that comes with an entrance at the Showcase of the Immortals. Now I know a lot of people were waiting on The Undertaker but that time came and went.
Now it’s time to for Sting to get all of honors that legend of his stature warrants. Get him that moment along with an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Maybe not in 2015 but definitely by 2016 he should have that masonic ring here around his finger. While we are selling the WWE Network and history of WCW why not have the man most associated with the brand in the fold to host some of these specials and packages. The Franchise is here and not a moment too late.
