Brock Can’t Lose at SummerSlam

Brock WM

This Monday on RAW it became official that Brock Lesnar will face John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Confirming what most fans believed after seeing the promo poster for the event a few months ago. Lesnar only works the major events and SummerSlam is the number 2 wrestling event of the year. It was presumed that the man who broke the streak would face whoever the titleholder would have been at the summer extravaganza. Now we have a big money match worthy of the former UFC Champion’s presence.

The story actually has been built just right up to this point. The Authority has been trying to get the belt back since Wrestlemania. Everybody they have sent out to handle business has been a failure. Even Triple H himself couldn’t get the job done. The Monster Kane failed at the task and even The Chosen One Randy Orton has missed the mark. Even with a healthy Daniel Bryan this is how the story should read. The powers that be now have no choice but to turn to the scariest man on the planet and his evil manager that even they can’t trust.

Brock and Paul

The most legitimate competitor in professional wrestling is back in the saddle. Now the question is what to do with him. I don’t think that his first match after defeating The Undertaker on the grand stage should be a loss. Since he has comeback Lesnar should have never lost. The Triple H and John Cena losses shouldn’t have happened. The Beast being undefeated in the two years since he has been back would only add to his mystique. In the world of sports entertainment nothing appears to be real. His victims being CM Punk, HHH, Undertaker and John Cena would be amazing and seem scary for anybody who stood in his way. The perception of sports entertainment is that, wrestling is full of fake tough guys. Lesnar is as real as it gets and he has the look and credentials to back it up.

I know some people are saying “hey Brock is a part-timer, he can’t win the title”. I am not saying that he has to be the champion but I am saying that he shouldn’t lose. There can even be some weird circumstances on how he wins and The Authority are forced to strip him of the belt but at the end of SummerSlam, he needs to be standing tall in the ring and admiring his destruction. How we get there remains to be seen but I am here for the ride.
