The wrestling world learned recently that Santino Marella will be retiring from in ring work. He made the announcement at a house show in Toronto. Marella has suffered his third neck injury and has decided to no longer continue with his in ring work. Largely known for him comic relief, Santino is a 2 time Intercontinental Champion and a former United States Champion and a Tag Team Champion.
Santino made his RAW debut in April of 2007, where he won the Intercontinental Title from Umaga with some timely help from Bobby Lashley in Italy. Although he has a legit background in MMA and Judo, Marella spent a large portion of his in ring career doing a lot of comic relief. With his most recent companion “The Cobra” added some funny to some of the segments. As of right now it is believed that Santino will stay with the WWE in a non-wrestling capacity. We here at Ring Time Pro Wrestling are sad to hear this young man has to give up his dream but wish him well on whatever he does in the future.
