May 7th: There’s a lot going on at the EVOLVE cards this Friday in Queens and this Saturday in Brooklyn. Here’s things to watch for:
-Back To Basics: Things got too out-of-control at the last set of shows. This weekend will go back to some of the original principles of EVOLVE including no touching an official and no interference. The goal is to give you great, straight-forward professional wrestling.
-Johnny Gargano vs. Rich Swann I Quit Match: This match will close the weekend and we will let anything goes here after a weekend of straight-forward wrestling. These two have been at each other for over a year. The I Quit Match has a violent history in DGUSA/EVOLVE. Now the final chapter between Swann and Gargano will end with one man saying I Quit. Who will win the feud?
-Brooklyn On A Saturday Night: Special things have happened at every DGUSA/EVOLVE show at The Lyceum in Brooklyn. Now for the first time, we will be at “The Dungeon” on a Saturday night for a live iPPV. There’s no telling what will go down! What do you think will happen?
-Gentlamen’s Club Implodes: This Friday in Queens will get a special match as former partners Chuck Taylor and Drew Gulak collide. This will be the first time they are in the same building since Gulak turned on Taylor in New Orleans. This match will be placed as the semi-main event to signify its importance. Who will win this battle?
-The Colony’s Biggest Weekend: The Colony of Fire Ant & Green Ant are set for their biggest weekend in DGUSA/EVOLVE. First, this Friday in Queens will see the Fire Ant/Jigsaw feud continue in a tag team match when Jigsaw teams with Tim Donst. Then on Saturday, The Colony get their shot at The Bravados and the Open The United Gate Titles. They beat The Bravados in a six man tag at the last DGUSA event, can they do it with the titles on the line on live iPPV?
-Uhaa Nation Returns To NYC: Uhaa Nation has become a star in Japan for Dragon Gate. However, his touring schedule has kept him out of action in NYC since last summer. Now the much improved Nation returns for two huge matches involving Trent Baretta. Can he establish himself as a star like he’s done in Japan?
-AR Fox vs. Premier Athlete Brand: The feud between AR Fox and the Premier Athlete Brand has been developing in recent months. It’ll take center stage this weekend when Fox teams with Nation vs. Anthony Nese & Trent Baretta in Queens and then faces Caleb Konley on Saturday in Brooklyn. Will this feud get settled?
-Caleb Konley Biggest Singles Match Weekend: Caleb Konley has seen his profile climb since joining The Premier Athlete Brand in January. He will be thrown into the fire when he faces Rich Swann in Queens and AR Fox in Brooklyn. These will be his highest profile singles matches yet in DGUSA/EVOLVE. Can Konley reach the next level?
-New Talent Opportunity: January’s New Talent Initiative will be followed up on this weekend with Tim Donst, Blake Edward Belakus and #AllEgo all returning for bigger chances. In addition, #WalkingWeapon is back after impressing in last November’s Style Battle tournament. New debuts this weekend include JT Dunn on Friday (coming off winning the FIP Tag Team Titles last weekend) and Ryan Rush on Saturday. Who will continue to break through?
These are just a few of the things to look out for on this weekend’s EVOLVE cards. Check theDGUSA.tv Events section for complete lineups.
