The newest Classic PPV focus will be on Wrestlemania 17. This is the 1st mania after the purchase of WCW by the McMahons. The Monday night wars are officially over and the Attitude Era is at its peak. The WWF at the time had one of its most loaded rosters going into this event. With ECW closing earlier in 2001 also the company had pretty much picked away the cream of that roster also.
This card from top to bottom is loaded with talent. One of the more interesting match-ups is between Shane and Vince McMahon. The entire family is present at the match with special guest referee Mick Foley. The action was called by Jim Ross and Paul Heyman which really added a lot of flair to one of the best Wrestlemanias ever.

Vince was getting a little too out of control and Shane wanted to show his father the error of his ways. First by scooping the purchase of WCW from up under his father and now he wanted to show him whose boss in a street fight. Stephanie McMahon decided to get in the corner of her father. Linda McMahon was who was believed to be heavily sedated ended up getting involved in the match also. The brawl was out of control and you know that McMahons love to steal the show.
WWF Tag Team Championship – Edge and Christian vs The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von) (c) vs The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff)
There was no better place for the 2nd TLC match in WWF history to take place then Wrestlemania. All 3 teams that were in the 1st match decided to go at again all for the tag team titles. This time around all of the brother tag teams had a little outside help whom made their presences felt during this match. This contest was a very worthy sequel.
19 Man Gimmick Battle Royal
The Gimmick Battle Royal brought out some of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. Mean Gene Okerland and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan on special commentary made this match can’t miss. Names like the Repo Man, The One Man Gang and The Gobbly Gooker show up for this battle royal.
The Undertaker vs Triple H
The 1st of what would later be 3 Wrestlemania matches 2 all-time greats go at it. The Undertaker and Triple H face each other with no titles on the line. Just wanting to prove who rules the ring. The match has no rules and goes all over the place.
WWF Championship – Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock (c)
When you get The Rock together with Stone Cold at Wrestlemania it doesn’t get any better. This is their 2nd go round for the WWF Championship on the world’s biggest stage. The Rock is a lot different than he was in the match 2 years prior to this one. He is the top baby face in the company. This match in Austin’s home state has the stadium rocking from beginning to end.
