Rarely does Ring Time Pro Wrestling dive into the world of politics. This week with worlds collided as Linda McMahon was named by President-Elect Trump to head the Small Business Administration. Now this of course is met some skepticism largely because who the incoming president is and because McMahon is from the world\u2019s most famous wrestling family.<\/div>\n

Now I know most people see the world of professional wrestling like the traveling circus and can\u2019t divorce it from its carnival roots but what McMahon has help build is a global empire. Just like in the circus world there is Barnum and Bailey then a bunch of minor leaguers the same can be said about the WWE in the wrestling world.<\/div>\n

\"Linda<\/a><\/p>\n

The SBA helps small businesses with financing and training to allow them a better chance at success. McMahon will now oversee an agency that has a 10-billion-dollar budget and will be charged with helping to increase job growth through small businesses. Mrs McMahon will be able to draw on her experience of taking over a small company with her husband that was failing and had only 13 employees to a publicly traded organization with 800 employees worldwide.<\/div>\n

President Elect Trump and the McMahon family have a relationship goes back about 30 years. The Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ hosted both Wrestlemanias 4 and 5. Trump has also made more than a few appearances on the company\u2019s programming over the years and was a participant in Wrestlemania 23. Trump managed Bobby Lashley against the Vince McMahon backed Umaga as part of the \u201cBattle of the Billionaires\u201d match. Trump is now a member of the WWE Hall of Fame for his contributions to the business. The McMahon\u2019s have also provided some major financial support to Mr. Trump. They donated $5 million to the Trump Foundation between 2007 and 2009. This summer the family also donated $6 million to Trump\u2019s presidential campaign efforts.<\/div>\n

Since Linda McMahon has stepped away from being the CEO of the WWE most of her efforts have been focused on being a part of public service. She attempted two separate runs as Senate seats in Connecticut that cost her personally somewhere in the range of $90 million in campaign spending. McMahon has always been very active in supporting women in business and we should expect her to focus encouraging more women entrepreneurs now as head of the SBA. In 2014 McMahon co-founded an organization Women\u2019s Leadership Live, a group that supports and mentor\u2019s women business owners and executives. The President Elect has made some more than questionable appointments but this one hits the nail on the head.<\/div>\n
