G.L.O.W – Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling

GLOWWhile channel surfing I found a documentary that took me back to my childhood. It was about the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling better known as G.L.O.W. They were women’s only wrestling promotion that was independent of both the WWF and WCW. From 1986 to 1992 G.L.O.W gave ladies a place to shine in the wrestling business and was successful.

Nationally syndicated the show featured a wide variety of female entertainers. With comedy sketches, well placed commercial opportunities very colorful characters. Women like Big Bad Mama, Mt Fiji and Sally the Farmer’s Daughter became famous around the world. They made talk show appearances and were on shows like Married With Children and Family Feud. The documentary on the LOGO channel is a must watch for any child of the 1980s. If you are not familiar it is a great chance to learn of some wrestling history.
