What Will Kurt Angle Do Next?

Kurt Angle

The world found out this week that the legendary Kurt Angle’s time is almost done with TNA. As of now Angle is stating he will take a break from the squared circle after his run with Impact is done. As we know pro wrestling retirements rarely ever last. Even at the advanced age of 46 Angle still has a lot to give the business especially on a part time basis.

Angle will get to end his TNA tenure with a solid match at Bound For Glory in October he will have some time to relax and make a decision on how he will handle his new freedom at the end of the year. Maybe he can negotiate a deal where he can be at Wrestle Kingdom 10 at the beginning of 2016 with New Japan. Ultimately Kurt needs to come home to the WWE.

It is time to Kurt to maybe finally have that last good run of his career. There are still some good matches to be had in the WWE and some new opponents that would make interesting match ups. Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro would be interesting matches for Angle to have at some big pay per views that maybe could set up a Wrestlemania 33 match-up with Brock Lesnar. If I were Vince and HHH I would lay out a plan that would end with the Olympic Gold Medalist being inducted into the Hall of Fame at Wrestlemania 35.

The WWE is the perfect place to honor the legacy of Angle’s storied career. They are the best at wrestling biography DVDs and full scope dedicated to his career with some of his greatest matches would be amazing. I would even pay TNA to use some of those matches especially against Samoa Joe since he is also a guy that you have under contract. TNA couldn’t possibly charge you that much for the footage considering their financial state. The WWE has been able to make similar deals with Ring of Honor.

Kurt has more appeal than just inside the ring. The WWE might want to consider bringing back the Legends of Wrestling roundtable discussion and I think Kurt would be awesome on some of those panels and also doing some of the RAW and PPV pre-shows. One thing about being a gold medal winning wrestler is that you are credible and that credibility can be used and harnessed to help get the overall product over. There are some young guys in NXT that have amateur backgrounds and they can be maybe paired with Angle as a manager to be similar to Team Angle in the past but with Kurt having a less of an in ring role. After years of being away its time for Angle to come home.
