Hell Comes to Frogtown – Movie Review

Hell Comes to Frogtown

Directed By: Donald G. Jackson and R.J. Kizer
Written By: Randall Franks and Donald G. Jackson
Starring: Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sandahl Bergman, Julius Lefore, Eyde Byrde and William Smith

This week our wrestling movie features none other than the late great recently departed Roddy Piper. “Hell Comes to Frogtown” is a 1988 post-apocalyptic action comedy where Piper stars as Sam Hell. In this world the human race is almost extinct and is in a fight for control over the planet with some mutant frogs. Sam is recruited by the Med Tech division of the military to help them with a special assignment to help repopulate the human race.

Frogtown 2

The Med Tech team is led by Spangle whose main job is to make sure that Sam carries out his duties and tries not run away. Now of course things can’t be as simple as Hell just getting to make it with women but there comes a problem when some prime candidates are captured and Sam has to go with the Med Tech team to get them out.

Watching this movie you can tell it was definitely done in the 1980s. The film is rated R so it’s not a good one to watch with your little wrestling fans. If you have some time to kill and miss Piper’s quick wit and want to see some Sci-Fi action mixed in with some comedy this will work for you.
