Where Will TNA’s Soon To Be Free Agents Go?

Storm vs Gunner

The wrestling world is going to soon to be blessed with a lot of top free agents. Now instead of taking time out to speculate on the doom of TNA the editorial staff here at Ring Time decided to take a more positive look at these events. There is a lot of talent that will be able to greatly contribute wherever they choose to apply their trade next. Could the doors of NXT be open or maybe Ring of Honor gets a little bit stronger? Here is what we think about three of the guys hitting the open market.

Cowboy James Storm

James Storm

The Cowboy leaving TNA is a sign that the ship could be really close to sinking. Nobody has been with company longer than Storm as he was on the 1st ever show. A 37 year old performer breaking a multi-year deal to explore the open market seems kind of risky but Storm still has a lot to offer. With there being more opportunity in the wrestling world look for a vet like The Cowboy to add value to a Ring of Honor roster or maybe joining Jeff Jarrett in some capacity at Global Force. New Japan would also be a nice place for a guy who is tough as Storm is and seems like a natural fit for the Bullet Club.

Austin Aries

Austin Aries

Austin Aries will not last long on the free agent market and has signed with a new agency that I am sure has been fielding inquires about his availability. Aries has NXT written all over him and could have some incredible matches in the new WWE. He could renew his rivalry with Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) on the grand stage. Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Finn Balor all sound like 5 star matches with Austin Aries. Not sure if Triple H and company have watched the tapes but this guy is a good talker and excellent in ring talent. Seems like a natural fit. He could also spend some time in his old home of ROH but most roads show Aries taking it the next level.

Magnus

Magnus

Magnus aka Nick Aldis is pulled straight out of WWE casting. He is 6 foot 3 and 250lbs and a former bodybuilder who got into the wrestling business. His career has been all Impact Wrestling and it’s amazing that he has not came up on the WWE radar. One big thing for Magnus is that he is under 30 years old and any developmental challenges the WWE may see he has time to correct. He would fit in very well with the European contingent that is on the current roster with the likes of Wade Barrett, Sheamus and Paige. It’s funny the company has not ever put together some kind of faction with these guys but hey they still haven’t hired me in creative either. Magnus has star written all over him just needs the right situation.
