Whats Wrong with Taker vs Brock

Taker vs Brock

With less than one week to go until Wrestlemania I figured we can talk about some of these matches. The Undertaker’s streak is one of the biggest parts of the event and actually may have more credibility than of the WWE titles. To be in this match is both a gift and a curse. I don’t think the streak has been in doubt in the last 3 or 4 years. This year is no different and the lead up too it hasn’t been done right at all.

When setting up a match with two part time performers it is already hard to create an issue. Because Undertaker and Brock Lesnar have a little history this wasn’t that hard but a large part of the audience may not have seen them feud 10 years ago and maybe didn’t the little exchange after the UFC match a few years ago. Since each one of them are not there each week the promos have to carry the match. What maybe should have been done is a lot of pre-taped segments that could have aired each week. The actual confrontations that the two have had have not helped this match at all.
You have one of the legitimate bad men on the planet and he has been booked like he is scared. Brock Lesnar should never give the impression that he is intimidated by anyone not even The Undertaker. The way they have set the match up someone would think that either that Brock is going over which is not going to happen. Heyman’s promos have been good at putting over Taker but the actions that follow don’t lead anyone to think that Brock is an imposing figure. It’s like all the beating up of Mark Henry was for nothing. Lesnar and Taker should not have any actual physical altercations. The Undertaker could have chokeslammed a few other guys on roster that they kill each week anyway to give him that aura of fear. At this point we have another stale match already on a too long card.
