This past Thursday Impact Wrestling held their Destination X event on free television. In that event Chris Sabin utilized the option C clause of the X-Division Championship where he could cash in for a World Title shot. This is one of the best things that TNA has ever done. It’s good for both belts and helps add more credibility to the product. That all being said we have crowned a new World Champion in Detroit’s own Chris Sabin.
Sabin is a good representative for the company and should carry the belt for a few months. The match was very good and he and Bully did a great job. I feel that Bully Ray established himself as even more a heel and Sabin played the sympathetic face very well. The title will more than likely go back to Bully Ray by or at Bound For Glory. Ideally Sabin should carry the belt into Bound For Glory. The winner of the Bound For Glory Series would be better served to face someone like Bully but Sabin would be a good a champion going forward also.
Maybe Sabin keeps the belt and let’s just assumes that Anderson wins the BFG Series and tries to get his hands on the title. This could cause a power struggle within the Aces and 8s organization. As for Sabin this is huge for his career and glad that TNA is betting on a home grown star.
