On Monday night there was a lot of speculation in the Internet Wrestling Community about who would be the new Paul Heyman guy. Any wrestler would be lucky to have the managerial services of Mr. Heyman. The popular thought was that RVD was coming back to the WWE. What we were in store for was a complete surprise as we were introduced to Curtis Axel.
Well kind of introduced because we have seen this young man before. We knew him as Joe Hennig in FCW or as Michael McGillicutty as a member of the Nexus. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig and grandson of the legendary Larry “The Axe” Hennig.
The new name for Joe or Curtis was explained as a combination of his father’s and grandfather’s names. The idea of putting this young man with Heyman was great. If he can’t make it with Pauly then I am not sure who he can make it with. From the brief times we have seen him in the ring we know he has the skills. His talking may need some work and who better to coach that along then Heyman. Despite Triple H trying to kill this kid’s debut I expect big things from Axle and can’t wait to see what kind of angles he put in with Heyman at his side.
